Entry from: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Entry Title: "Rio the home of the mini bikini" Entry: "Today we got up at 7am to catch the bus to Cancun airport...we thought the travel day would be a doddle, as we were not going far....just to Rio. We started with a short 3 hr flight to Panama city followed by a long 4 hrs between flights...dreary.....the coffee was awful and we had limited money. The fiasco started when boarding the COPA airlines flight to Rio....it was overbooked and people being bumped, a lot of gesturing and shouting followed by a rush to get on the plane....we were worried as on our first flight there was another couple with the same seat numbers allocated as us !! We were at the back and there was nowhere left to store our small carry-ons as everyone was allowed so much stuff....Colin got stroppy, so staff made others take some out so we could put ours up....only fair !!! we had burgers for breakfast on first flight followed by burgers for lunch on second...we didn't realise that COPA was a subsidiary of Macdonalds !! just as bad though. It was a short 7 hrs that turned out to be a very long 7 hrs....in total we arrived at our hotel 24 hrs after leaving Playa Del Carmen exhausted....we got to hotel at 8am and thought we will have to dump bags and sleep on the beach, but they exceeded ...
